NTT Basic Research Laboratories is one of the Research and Development department (used to be called Electrical Communication Laboratories) at Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation.

We cover the following five areas:

Computer science
Human information science
Quantum optics and optical materials
Semiconductor physics
Material science

NTT Basic Research Laboratories consist of:

Research Planning Division
Information Science Research Laboratory
Physical Science Research Laboratory
Material Science Research Laboratory
Yamada Laboratory

NTT Basic Research Laboratories has been located in NTT Musashino R&D Center, Tokyo. However, it now moved into NTT Atsugi R&D Center, Kanagawa.
