Getting There
By rail
- From Tokyo more than 100 super express Shinkansen
'Hikari' and 'Kodama' trains leave daily (3-4 hrs.),
12,970 yen one way.
- From Osaka, JR and two private railway companies have
regular services: Keihan Electric from Yodoyabashi Stn. (45
min.), 360 yen; Hankyu Electric from Hankyu-Umeda Stn. (40
min.), 350 yen; and JR from Osaka Stn. (40 min.), 530 yen.
By air
- From Tokyo International Airport (Haneda) to Osaka
International Airport (1 hr.), 14,600 yen; by bus to downtown
Kyoto (75 min.), 890 yen or 950 yen depending on where to get off.
