Message-Id: <9408291855.AA01962@cissun15.cis.nctu.edu.tw>

My NCSA Mosaic can't type words in Fill out form.
I can't type words at the very first time when I execute
the NCSA Mosaic, but after I access the menu, at the top
of the NCSA Mosaic, such as File, Navigate, Annotate, I can
not type words any more unless pressing the middle button
of the mouse while typing. Why?
No matter I compile the NCSA Mosaic or use the precompiled
version, I have got the same situation.

This is a common problem with shared libraries under 4.1.X. A binary expects
to be run against shared libraries at least at the same rev level as the ones
it was built against. Apparently the SunOS that NTT used has a libC that has
been patched to a higher level than the standard release. I have been running
Mosaic-2.4-l10n-0.sparc-cjk using the standard release libC without any
problems (I do receive the warning). To get around this problem you need to
either recompile Mosaic-2.4-l10n-0.sparc-cjk on your system or get NTT to
relink their binary with the '-Bstatic' switch. This will generate a larger
executable but will not reference any shared libraries.

Hi, everyone. I'm glad to join the discussion group.
My first question is follows (I checked all archives, and didn't find a related
 one).

I installed the patch with Mosaic-2.4 on my RS/6000 running AIX 3.2. I also ins
talled GB and BIG5 fonts found on www.ntt.jp. Then I run Mosaic, select big5 fo
nt, and read alt.chinese.text.big5 successfuly. I also tried some gb file, it w
orks great, too. However, if I select HZ, and read alt.chinese.text, some text
are correct but others are wrong. Does any one have the same problem? Have I do
ne something wrong?
Thanks for any hints.
-Lei.
