おさわがせしましたが、やっとHTTPサーバーが動きました。
動かなかった原因は、
1.httpd.confでServerType standaloneと宣言しているのに、
/etc/inetd.confに
http stream tcp nowait root /usr/local/etc/httpd/httpd httpd
と書いてしまった。
2.NCSAMosaic.1.0.3のHome Pageの設定を間違えていた。
はじめは、http://200.0.0.1/Overview.htmlとしていたが、三浦さんのおっしゃるとお
り、/usr/local/etc/httpd/docsは余計でした。
logsの中のerror_logを見て解りました。
ありがとう、三浦史光さん。
また、nws841じゃなくてLocalなIP Adressを書かないと動きませんでした。
これは自分で解決できるでしょう。
さてこれからHTMLのお勉強です。

つい最近から cache, proxy とも試していますが、なかなか良いです。

また、comp.infosystems.www あたりで NCSA httpd に cache をさせるパッチ
があると読んだような気がします。
ただ、gopher で画像ファイルを持ってくると Content-Length mismatch とい
われて caching されないという症状に見舞われています。
CERN httpd 3.0pre3 ですが、同様の症状のある方いらっしゃいますか？
＃ 一番 caching させたいのはひまわりの画像だったのに (^_^;)

うちのサーバーはcernなのであまり参考にならないかもしれないけど、
config file で Open するトップディレクトリを指定してやると、外部
からのアクセスはそこからの相対パスになります。
サーバーを verbose (だっけ？）モードで起動してやると、実際何が要求
されてどう答えようとしてるかわかると思うのですが。（CERNの場合）

emacs-lisp で html-mode html-helper-mode というのがあります。
C-コマンドで タグやなんかを入力していけます。
helper-mode の方が入力出来るコマンドが増えてます。
helper-mode の方は 持って来てあるので

を探ってみてください。
他には LaTeX2html plain2 の HTMLオプションによる html出力などがありま
すね。
これら２つは link はさすがに面倒みてくれないようです。

みなさん、貴重な情報をありがとうございます。
見直してみたところ、/etc/services, /etc/inetd.confの設定はあっていまし
た。
macの方の設定については、
HomePage:
http://nws841/usr/local/etc/httpd/docs/Overview.htmlとしています。
Navigateメニューの中のNetwork Starting Pointsを実行すると"Unable to
connect remote host."というメッセージが帰ってくるので、MacMosaic1.0.3
とHTTPサーバーのコネクトがうまくいっていないのかと思い、ためしに、HTTP
サーバーにtelnetでアクセスしたら次のような応答がありました。

私は Local の FAQ 集を HTML 化するために、簡単な converter を perl で
作りました。全然汎用的なものじゃありませんが、FAQ の source を update
した後 make 一発で、HTML を作れるので、なかなか役にたっています。
# link は table of contents を作って、そこから各項目への pointer
をはっているだけという簡単なものです。
Emacs の html mode とかもありますが、私は、どうもあの <TAG> </TAG> だ
らけの文書を edit していると頭が痛くなってくるので、converter を作りま
した。ある人に言わせると、なれれば LaTeX と同じだよと言うのですが...

SUN-OS 4.1.3を前提として記事を書いてます。
WWWのサーバーhttpdの主なもの3種類について説明します。他にもいろいろ
あるようですが、ここでは有名なものということで。仕組みは簡単なので
単純な仕組みのサーバーでよければ、ちょっとしたシェルプログラムでも
作れるみたいです。
CERN httpd,NCSA httpd,plexus
WWWは、マルチメディア情報提供を行います。見るためのツールがMosaic
(Motif)や,chimera(X11),tkWWW(Tcl/Tk)をはじめとするビュアーで、
データーを管理するためのツールがhttpdです。また、ビュアーは、
MacやWindows用にも発表されているようです。
httpdはだいたい次のようなことができます。
・絵や文字の表示
・さらには、マウスのクリック(選択)により文章や絵、音楽の表示、演奏
・さらには、ネットワークを通じて他のWWW,gopher,ftpサーバーとの接続。
・さらには、プログラムの実行。
・さらには、絵を表示させて選んだ部分によって実行を変えるマッピング
なお、データはタグを使うHTMLという言語(簡単な書き方については後述)
で書いてやる必要があります。それが面倒なら細かい制御はできませんが
gopherが使えます。

CERN httpd
==========
Cで書かれたサーバー。使ったことはないがキャッシングproxy(他サーバーの
データの蓄え)対応などの特徴が有るらしい。昔は他のサーバーと比べ、機能
が少なかったので、敬遠されがちだったようだが、最近はかなり強化されて
おり、同様のことができるようだ。資料にPSやTeXで書かれたハイパーテ
キストでないまっとうな:-)文章が多く、マニュアル類やドキュメントは
しっかりしているといえるかもしれない。
httpd.confファイルを書くことで多くの設定を行なうことができる。
特に最近のバージョンでは、セキュリテイなどの設定が他のhttpdより
使いやすいように見える。これは、逆にhttpd.confファイルを書くのが
難かしいことを意味するかな？

から作成される。一緒にテキスト版ビュアーWWWができる。
これらは、フリーウエアのようである。???
最近のバージョンは2.16らしい
最近のキット cern_httpd_2.16beta.tar.Z
ドキュメント cern_httpd_guide.ps.Z
これらのプログラムはPDS(パブリックドメイン)におかれている。
インストール
------------
cern_httpd_2.16beta.tar.Z を使う場合はBUILDと打つだけ。
インストールは
WWW/Daemon/mplementation/install.csh.txtを
WWW/Daemon/mplementation/install.cshにして
WWW/Daemon/sun4でmake install WWW_MACH=sun4
で、全自動で/etc/services、/etc/inetd.conf、/Pubdic他
適当に設定ファイルを作成してくれる。もっともNISを使っている
場合はそれなりの設定が必要だが。
httpdは、/usr/etcに作成される。手で/etc/services、
/etc/inetd.confを書く時は、後に述べるNCSAhttpdと同様にして
設定する。
文章のホームの初期値は/Publicで、最初にアクセスするファイルは
welcome.htmlである。これらの設定は/etc/httpd.confに書かれる。
ここにセキュリテイなどの細かい設定をすることができる。
できる。cern_httpd_guide.ps.Z参照。
簡単な/etc/httpd.confの書き方

ファイルが /usr/wwwにあり、最初の案内がwelcome.htmlである場合

これも、Cで書かれたサーバーである。ドキュメントがHTML
で書かれているので読みやすくわかりやすいが、印刷物にするのが
難しい。オンラインで見る必要がある。

バイナリーキット httpd_sun4.tar.Z 各機種用あり

少なくとも最近のバージョンはPDSらしい。
インストール
------------
バイナリーキットをそのまま、/usr/local/etc/httpdに展開する。
つまり、バイナリーのhttpdは、/usr/local/etc/httpd/httpdになる。
設定ファイル、/usr/local/etc/httpd/conf以下を書き直し名前を変える。
access.conf-dist -> access.conf
httpd.conf-dist -> httpd.conf
srm.conf-dist -> srm.conf
/etc/servicesに書き加える
http 80/tcp
/etc/inetd.confに書き加え、kill -HUP (inetdのPID)して動かす。
http stream tcp nowait nobody /usr/local/etc/httpd/httpd httpd

plexus

perlによって構成されるhttpdサーバー。当然ながらperlがインストール
されていることが必要である。

Plexus 3.0kが94'3での最新版のようだ。
Plexus-3.0i.tar.Z
Plexus-3.0i-3.0j-patches
PDS(パブリックドメイン)扱いとなっている。
インストール
------------
まず、perlがインストールされていないといけない。perlコマンドの
ディレクトリは/usr/bin/perlでなければならない。またIDとグループの
両方にwwwを用意すること。
インストールされる初期のディレクトリは/usr/local/wwwである。
これを変更しないならば、make install でインストールすることが
できる。その後、/usr/local/www/server/plexus &で起動する。
公開文章のディレクトリは、初期値は/usr/local/wwwになっており
最初に読まれるファイルは、初期値では/usr/local/www/index.htmlで
あるのでこのファイルを作成することができる。
なお、これらの初期値やその他の設定は、/usr/local/www/server/
local.conf,plexus.confを変更することによって行なう。
インストールマニュアルはREADMEである。

HTMLは，文字や絵を表示して，マウスのクリックによる動作を記述する
言語である．それほど表現力はないが，この目的を果たすにはこの程度
あれば使えるだろう．表示に使う道具によって見えかたが違うので注意が
必要である．基本的な書き方は，
<命令>文章</命令>
のように文章をを命令で囲んで書く．命令には大文字，小文字の区別は
ない.TeXと似ており空白は普通無視される．タイトル以外では日本語も
使用できる．実際に日本語を表示できるかどうかは表示のための道具が
日本語を使えるかどうかによる．
<a href="URLまたはファイル名"> 文章や画像</a>
文章や絵をマウスで選ぶとherf 以下のファイルを表示，実行する．
(例)
ここでは、<H1><A HREF="isc.html">情報科学センター</A></H1>
について説明する<P>
<title> .... </title> この文章の題名．これは，文章内には表示されない．
<h1> ... </h1> 表題文字飾り(非常に大きな文字)
