This document describes the encoding used in electronic mail and
network news messages in several Japanese networks. It was first
specified by and used in JUNET. The encoding is now also widely used
in Japanese IP communities. The name given to this encoding is
"ISO-2022-JP", which is intended to be used in the "charset" parameter
field of MIME headers.
This memo provides information for the Internet community. It does
not specify an Internet standard. Distribution of this memo is
unlimited.
This announcement is sent to the IETF list and the RFC-DIST list.
Requests to be added to or deleted from the IETF distribution list
should be sent to IETF-REQUEST@CNRI.RESTON.VA.US. Requests to be added

そして... やるやると言ってずっとほっぽっておいた過去のメール等の
取り寄せサービスですが、とりあえずメール・ベースでサービスを開始
します。

う、これを載せてくれ等の要望は、高田までお寄せ下さい。
なにぶん実験システムなのでたまにコケたりするかもしれませんが、そこ
ら辺は御容赦をば。

こんにちは。こちらは infotalk-db@square.ntt.jp です。
[1] infotalk-db の使い方
本サービスの使い方を簡単に説明します。使い方は非常に簡単で、サブジェク
ト行にコマンドとその引数を書けばよいだけです。例えば、
To: infotalk-db@square.ntt.jp
Subject: dir
という(ボディは空の)メールを送れば、このサーバーに収められているファイ
ルの一覧表が返送されます。
現在サポートされているコマンドは、
・help
・dir
・get <filename> ...
の3つだけです。help コマンドは今読んでいるこの文章を送り返します。以下、
dir コマンド, get コマンドについて説明します。
[2] dir コマンド
dir コマンドは、[1]でも触れたようにこのサーバーに収められているファイ
ルの一覧表を送り返します。
To: infotalk-db@square.ntt.jp
Subject: dir
という(ボディは空の)メールを送って下さい。
[3] get コマンド
dir コマンドで取り寄せたファイルの一覧を見て、もし欲しいファイルがあっ
た場合は、get コマンドでそのファイルを取り寄せることができます。例えば、
To: infotalk-db@square.ntt.jp
Subject: get infotalk/00000-00019.tar.Z.uu
というメールを送って頂くと、折り返しそのファイルをメールにて返送します。
get コマンドに複数の引数を与えたい場合は、
To: infotalk-db@square.ntt.jp
Subject: get Help Index
のように、複数の引数をサブジェクト行に書いても良いですし、
To: infotalk-db@square.ntt.jp
Subject: get

のように、本文部分に引数を並べても構いません。
ファイル名の指定は、C-shell のコマンド行と同様、'*' や '?' といったワ
イルドカードや、'{a,b,c}' '[abc]' などの記法が使えます。ただし get の
引数としてディレクトリを指定することはできませんので、注意して下さい。
[4] infotalk-db と MIME-mail
infotalk-db では返送するメールに MIME-mail (参照: RFC-1341) を使用して
います。
例えば get コマンドで複数のファイルを要求した場合、各ファイルは MIME
の "message/multipart" 形式で送り返されます。また巨大なファイルが要求
された場合は 100K毎のメールに分割して送り返すようになっていますが、こ
の時は MIME の "message/partial" 形式が用いられます。
これらの MIME 形式のメールは、もちろん手でファイルの分割/結合の処理を
することも可能ですが、出来るならば MIME 準拠のメイラを入手してそれを用
いた方が遥かに便利だと思われます。MIME 準拠のメイラとしては metamail,
MH-6.8, vin 等がありますので、この際使ってみるのはいかがでしょう？

までどうぞ。また、これを載せて欲しい、あれも... 等の御要望もお待ちして
います。時間があれば WAIS で過去のメール等を検索できるようにもしたいと
思っているのですが、なかなか... (^_^;
