Hashimoto Laboratory (Surface Materials Chemistry)
(Sendai-shi, Miyagi, Japan)
Novel materials with useful chemical properties are being tailored. These include electrodes and catalysts for carbon dioxide (CO2) recycling for prevention of global warming and for abundant energy supply. The CO2 recycling connects deserts, coasts close to the deserts and distant energy consumers, and the solar energy on deserts can be used in the form of methane by energy consumers without emitting CO2 in atmosphere. A CO2 recycling plant for substantiation of our idea is built on the roof of the Institute.
